Join us for the Songs of Life International Choral Festival

The Songs of Life International Choral Festival commemorates the heroic rescue of all the Bulgarian Jews during the Holocaust.

The 12-day event will be held Nov. 21-Dec. 1, 2008 in Bulgaria and Israel and is being organized by Varna International Tours. Choirs from around the world will join together for the Bulgarian premiere performance of Ernest Bloch’s major choral work, Sacred Service (Avodat Hakodesh). Professional philharmonic orchestras from Bulgaria and Israel will also participate. The festival will feature two performances in each country.

It is our hope that Songs of Life will transcend cultural and religious lines and instead continue to build bridges among all that it touches.

We invite you to be a part of this international festival in one of the following ways:

Perform – Choirs and individual singers are invited to come and sing Bloch’s Sacred Service in Bulgaria and Israel. The 12-day itinerary also allows for individual presentations by guest choirs and opportunities for sightseeing and guided tours.

Attend as an Auditor – Attend all of the Songs of Life festival events and enjoy the guided tours in Bulgaria and Israel.

Participate in the Educational Track - Educators and students have an opportunity to partake in exchange activities at Israeli schools in cooperation with the local teachers. Contact the festival organizers for more information.

ContributeFinancial donations will be used to help defray the festival costs, provide educational/travel scholarships to high school and college students and support the attendance of international guest choirs.

Please join us in this celebration of thanksgiving that will impact generations to come.
